Having returned home from France I thought I'd explore my home turf (the lovely South Downs National Park) and see if anything caught my eye. I kept things simple with this gallery by shooting some silhouetted Cormorants against a beautiful sunset!
They were settling down for the evening so I didn't have any worries about them flying away, which allowed me to get a couple of different compositions throughout the evening.
Silhouettes are simple enough to capture. Bear in mind you'll want to expose for the background and not the foreground otherwise all the detail will be in the birds, not the sky (a fast shutter speed is generally the way to do this...somewhere around 1/2000 dependant on other settings).
